Catching Plastic

"When it comes to saving our Oceans, we're all in the same boat.
On this one, we have twenty experts from seven nations, solving a global issue.
This is how it should be" - Skipper Bjorn Larsen

In 2020 I was invited to spend 7 weeks on board with the The Ocean Cleanup Team, 1100 miles from shore. I documented their mission to clean up a plastic waste accumulation twice the area of France,
scattered across the harshest environment on the planet.
I lived beside a crew of 20 engineers, researchers and ship workers. They tried, failed, refined and evolved this system to what would be the final testing phase of the fully functioning and successful operation it is today.

This is the story of The Ocean Cleanup - System 4.
